The Streaming Platform is Producing a Popular Game TV Show from the Minds of Alien: Earth and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
The latest action-packed instalment that gamers explored was Far Cry 6, that starred Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the bad guy, Antón, and came out on October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is known for delighting in violence and mayhem with equal excitement, all while presenting gripping, ideologically themed stories. Little surprise that the network’s decision for a Far Cry anthology series brought on board two producers whose work have exemplified all of those elements.
About the Series
Adapted from Ubisoft's popular video game franchise, the self-contained anthology series will be available on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The series will also follow the video games' structure by introducing a different location and cast of characters in each season.
Executive Team
Rob Mac, creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as executive producers on the series through their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.
“FX has had excellent collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is innovative, engrossing, and extremely entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our partners at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this cherished property.”
Cast and Future Plans
Mac will also feature in the show, but currently, we do not know what role that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently approved for another season, with FX and Disney finalizing a new long-term contract with the creator.
“Getting to work together with Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly supportive, trusting us with one of the most iconic video-game universes ever created. And through it all, my FX family always encourages me with their constant belief and backing.”
“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an anthology series. Every title is a interpretation of a idea, the same way each season of Fargo is a adaptation on a theme,” said Hawley. “To create a big action show that can evolve from season to season, while always exploring the nature of humanity through this multifaceted and turbulent perspective, is a ultimate goal. I’m thrilled to collaborate with Rob and present our common irreverent, daring approach to the audience.”
A schedule for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
